Admission - Rules and Regulation

The Following are the details about admission rules and regulations, Students/ Parents / Guardians should go through the admission from carefully and fill in necessary details. They should also read and understand the rules regarding admission, fees, examination and more of conduct.

  1. S.Y.B.A / S.Y.Bcom admissions will be granted to eligible students as per the directives issues from time to time by the University of Mumbai & Education Department, Government of Maharashtra. Admissions will be granted strictly on merit. The Principal reserves the right to admit the students.
  2. (a) A Students for being eligible for admission to the 3 year degree course leading to       the degree of Bachelor of Arts & Bachelor of Commerce must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education or of any other equivalent board.

(b)Students passing an examination equivalent to S.Y.J.C of the H.S.C board, Mumbai or from other states and immigrating from other Universities, Board and seeking admission to the First year of the degree course in this college will be admitted only on production of a “Provisional Eligibility Certificate” issue by the University of Mumbai. Such students should submit –

  1. a migration certificate
  2. Statement of marks and
  3.  Passing certificate in original along with true copies within 2 months from the date of admission, failing which their admission will stand cancelled.

 

  1. Mumbai University: - A student from another University of board of secondary or intermediate education or any other Statutory examining body seeking admission to the university shall apply to the register for a statement of eligibility and except in the case of students from the universities in the state of Maharashtra. The registrar may issue a provisional statement of eligibility if he is satisfied that the applicant is prime facie eligible for admission to this University. On production of such a provisional statement of eligibility, a student may seek provisional admission to this University at his own risk and on condition that the summit to the Registrar’s office through the Head / Principal of his institute / college. The necessary certificates in original together with a type copy of each for confirmation of his eligibility before the close of the academic term in which the student is provisionally admitted to the university. No student from another University shall be admitted to any institution maintained by or affiliated to the university except on production of a provisional statement of eligibility issue by the registrar.
  2. Attendance: - Attendance in every class, tutorials and practical’s is compulsory. It is regulated by the University under circular vide no. UG / 235 / 98.  DT. 03/07/1988 relating to 0.119. For granting of terms attendance of 75% of theory, practical’s and tutorials (wherever prescribed) separately will be required, out of the total number of lectures practical’s and tutorials conducted in the term.
  3.  a students who does not fulfil this condition will be permitted to appear for the final examination and the principal’s decision in this matter will be final and binding.
  4. A student who remains absent due to illness or any other valid reason must apply for leave of absence within 2 days from the date of commencement of the absence to the principal. Leave due to illness must be supported by medical certificate signed by registered medical practitioner and fitness certificate on first day of attendance. a student will not be allowed to enter in the college for premises without valid college identity card for ready inspection identity card during the period of validity has to apply for a duplicate card the duplicate card will be issue after payment of prescribe
  5. Fee: - Student will pay the stipulated fees in time failure of payment of fees may result cancellation of admission.
  6. Identity Card: - on confirmation of admission and in payment of fees the student will  be issue and identity card.

A student will not be allowed to enter in the college for premises without valid College identity card. A student must display his/ her card for ready inspection.

In case a student loses his/her identity card during the period of validity, he / she have to apply for a duplicate card. The duplicate card will be issue after scrutiny and the payment of prescribed fees.

  1. Discipline: - Every Student admitted to the college must observe perfect discipline in the class room and in the college premises.  Use of mobile phones in the college premises is strictly prohibited.
  2.  students should not that in any matter pertaining to admission, attendance, academic and extra - curricular performance,  discipline, exams and declaration of the exam result of the student,  the discretion of the college principal and the management shall be a final and wholly binding on the Student.
  3.  No fonts or whatsoever nature be collected by student without prior permission of the principal.

The aim of the institution is to promote education from pre- primary to the higher levels to local students. The institution also aims at developing character & personality of the young ones. In 1964, VIII std. Class was started in hired small room with 20 students on roll. In 1968 the first batch appeard for the S.C.C Examination. In 1974-75. The management purchased present vast campus & constructed a specious building for its high school. Taking into view the needs of local residents, English and Hindi mediums were added respectively in the year 1977 & 1980. As a natural growth of students, a junior college with the faculties of Arts and Commerce were started, a science being was added to the Junior College. The school with Marathi, English and Hindi medium & Junior College, at present have more than 4000 students on the roll. In the last 56 years the institution promoted education at various levels, during this year’s there had been constant demand of the local population extending from Owale onwards to Kolshet, Balkum & Majiwade for Higher Collegiate education. It had also been a cherished dream of the management to extend the present educational facilities up to the establishment of a degree college. With the permission Sought from the Education Dept. & the University of Mumbai the long standing dream is finally fullfield. The management hopes that with the munificence & patronage of the people, the degree college will take strides in the field of Higher Education. The degree college will meet the educational needs mainly of the middle class & the lower middle class of majiwade area. The management is confident that with the blessing of its wellwishers sympathizers the Degree College will be & ideal educational institution in Majiwade, Thane.

Library Details:
          The college provides sufficient library faculties to the students and the staff. Students can take reference book, magazines, news paper etc. by presenting their ID card at the library counter. Students are not allowed to take such a materials out of the library.
 Home Issue:
                Home issue cards will be provided to the students, which will entitle them to borrow on books at a time for 7 days, subject to renewal.
Fine:
 Rs. 10 /-per day for book.
Academic Calendar:  
      First term        :   June 2022 - October 2022
      Second term   :  November 2022 April 2023
 Student’s council :
                The students will have the opportunities to promote extracurricular and co - curricular activities throw the student council. It will consists of the following:

  1.  Principle (Chairman)
  2. One lecture and nominated by the Principal.
  3. Teacher incharge of NSS.
  4. One student from each Class who has show academic merit at the examination held in the presiding year and who is engaged in full time studies in the college nominated by Principal.
  5. Teacher incharge of Sports.
  6. One student from each of the following activities, who has show outstanding performers nominated by the Principal.
  7. Sports.
  8.  N.S.S and Adult education.
  9. Cultural activities.
  10. Two girl students.

All members of the student’s council are required to help the principal in the maintenance of discipline among the students in general and at the time of college function in particular. They are also expected to perform their duties sincerely without being irregular in lectures, practicals and tutorials.
