The collage is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. Initially the college has been permitted on non - grant basis. The college is duly recognized by the Education Department, Government of Maharashtra and affiliated to Mumbai University. The Gramin Shikshan Sanstha was founded in 1961 under the able guidance of Sri C.A. Ver and the local people of majiwade. It primarily catered the educational needs of the ruler areas of Thane including Owale, Kasarwadavali, Chitalsar, Manpada, Kapurbawdi, Dhokali, Kolshet, Balkum and Majiwade.
